EVANGELIZATION AND CATECHESIS

Animation on communicating Gospel values to the staff Members.
In the centenary year, making DB known to the students (talk by staff and the students).
Steps were taken to inculcate interest in the word of god (Reading the word of God during the assembly).
All the institutions have conducted retreats for all the students.
Prayer groups are formed. Prayer experiences were given.
Retreats and animation programs were conducted for the staff by the Commission Members.

EDUCATION AND CULTURE

Extending our facilities to our Salesian presences
In the beginning of the year all the technical institutional heads were contacted to get the details of all the formal and non formal trades that are offered or going to be offered during the year. These details were sent to all our presences and were also published in URAVU. This was done to help our presences to plan and send their candidates for different types of training.
Institutions were asked to send the hand bills prepared by them giving details of the courses offered, the date of commencement of the courses etc… to our houses which was promptly done.
All the institutions decided to admit poor and deserving students from our presences and to offer free or partly free training.

GROUPS AND MOVEMENTS

As part of the Centenary program, the institutions were encouraged to organize youth programs. Our institutions have hosted both the Province level youth Programs and also conducted such programs for the local groups.
Social Service Groups, Cultural groups for creating Awareness, Prayer Groups are present.

VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE

As part of our annual program, Vocation Day is celebrated in all our technical institutions. Brothers Day (December 5th) has a special emphasis in most of our Centers
Employment Cell has been established in all our Technical Centers.
A separate placement Officer has been appointed in two of our centers, while the staff members look after the cell in other centers.

STUDY DONE ON ALL OUR TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS FROM 27-10-2005 TO 29-10-2005

A study of all our Technical institutions was done by a committee consisting of Fr. Albert Johnson, Fr. Antony Joseph and Bro. Arockiadoss.
It was an opportunity to evaluate all the sectors of the institution.
A Report was presented to the Provincial Council on 17th November 2005. The Committee had made various observations and suggested the course of action to the Provincial and his Council.

SHARING OF EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES

The institutions were ready to share the surplus equipment and machines that were available.
There is a common understanding that tools and equipment bought by an institution for short term non formal courses will be sent to other institutions when needed.

PROGRAMME PROJECT

The existing trades were upgraded with newer and hi-tech machines and in turn the standard of training was improved.
Scholarships were awarded to the poor students (almost 70-80 in each institution)
