Don Bosco Care Home, Salem, continues its dedicated mission of promoting health, dignity, and well-being among vulnerable groups in society. As part of this mission, a special outreach programme was organized at the Government Hospital, Attur, focusing on providing nutritional support to poor widows.

The event commenced with the active participation of the in-charge doctors and hospital staff, whose presence greatly enhanced the impact of the programme. A key highlight of the event was an HIV awareness session conducted by the medical team. Participants received clear and compassionate guidance on HIV prevention, regular medical care, and healthy living practices. This session helped break misconceptions and encouraged beneficiaries to take proactive steps toward maintaining their health.

Following the awareness session, nutrition packs containing essential food items—such as grains, pulses, and basic groceries—were distributed to 25 widowed women. The distribution was carried out in an organized and respectful manner, ensuring that each beneficiary felt valued and supported. The event concluded with refreshments including tea, puffs, and cake, creating a warm and appreciative atmosphere among the attendees.
