: In a vibrant celebration of faith, sportsmanship, and cultural artistry, the Don Bosco Youth Movement, under the leadership of Fr. Sabinson (Youth Director), successfully organized “TERBO”—a name signifying Teresa and Bosco—from September 5–7, 2025. This grand three-day diocesan event was convened to honour the centenary of the canonization of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, uniting the youth in joyful celebration and friendly competition.
The festivities commenced at the JMJ Turf in Tuticorin with high-energy sports events. Day one featured cricket and football matches, drawing enthusiastic participation. The inaugural ceremony was graced by special invitees including Mrs. Geetha Jeevan, MLA, and Dr. John Muhilan from Geetha Jeevan Hospital. Fr. Sutharsan, the Youth Director of the Tuticorin Diocese, and Fr. Amalraj Susai formally inaugurated the event, which saw an impressive 420 youngsters enrolled.
Day two, held at the Auxilium Ground, continued the competitive spirit with throwball for girls, volleyball for boys, and indoor games such as carrom and chess. The presence of Sr. Margaret, FMA, Superior, added encouragement to the 230 participants who competed with great passion and camaraderie.
The grand finale on day three featured captivating cultural performances, with over 150 talented youth participating in dance, singing, poem writing, drawing, and solo dance categories. The performances were judged by former Youth Directors, Fr. Samy and Fr. Rex, who had the challenging task of evaluating the immense talent on display.
Spanning three dynamic days, TERBO 2025 emerged as a monumental success, drawing participation from 20 parishes across the diocese. It was more than just a competition—it was a holistic expo of youthful talent, a tribute to the legacies of St. Theresa and St. John Bosco, and a vibrant demonstration of the faith and energy of the young Church.
