In the vibrant spirit of Don Bosco and in joyful anticipation of his feast, the Don Bosco Ever Rolling Football Tournament 2026 unfolded as a celebration of youth, unity, and sportsmanship. Organized jointly by the INT Don Bosco Sports Academy and ILAMAI, the tournament was held on 11 January 2026 at the Don Bosco ITI campus, Madurai. Designed exclusively for youth under 20 years of age from various Salesian presences of the Trichy Province, the event became a lively platform where passion for football met Salesian values.
True to the preventive system of Don Bosco, the tournament aimed not merely at competition but at fostering discipline, teamwork, leadership, and healthy recreation among young people. Well before the kick-off, meticulous planning laid the foundation for the event’s success. The INT Don Bosco Sports Academy conducted several online and offline brainstorming sessions, ensuring that every aspect – from logistics to youth participation – was thoughtfully coordinated.
The tournament adopted a 5-a-side football format, played on a well-maintained turf ground that offered a fast-paced and competitive environment. Seven teams, representing different Salesian institutions, took part with remarkable enthusiasm. Each match was marked by energy, fair play, and mutual respect, reflecting the true spirit of Salesian youth engagement.
Behind the seamless execution stood a committed organizing committee. Fr. Vincent, Director of the INT Don Bosco Sports Academy, along with Fr. Charles (INT – ILAMAI Youth Director), Fr. Bosco, Fr. Danistan, and Fr. Aldon, worked in close collaboration to ensure the smooth flow of the tournament. Responsibilities were clearly defined and efficiently carried out – from drafting official communications and tournament rules to coordinating registrations, fixtures, referees, sponsorships, and awards.
The grounds resonated with cheers, encouragement, and camaraderie as teams competed fiercely yet fraternally. Beyond goals and scores, what stood out was the atmosphere of joy and brotherhood – young players learning to win with humility and accept defeat with grace. The tournament thus became a living classroom where values were learned not through lectures, but through play.
