Don Bosco College of Arts & Science, Keela Eral organized Volleyball Tournament in honour of Don Bosco on February 18th & 19th. It was an open tournament organized to encourage sports among the young people. The participants came from Kovilpatti, Sayalkudi, Tiruchendur, Sattur, Kanniyakumari, and from the nearby villages. Fourteen teams took part in this tournament.
The finalist teams were KR Sarathas & VOC College. They played neck-and-neck with excellent sportsmanship. The management distributed the cash rewards and issued certificates as well. The following teams won the first three places viz., KR Sarathas, VOC College and FVC Kanniyakumari. These teams were awarded with the prize money of ₹7,000, ₹5,000 and ₹3,000 respectively. The College had made arrangements for meals and rooms for the players to stay.
Fr. Antonysamy, Fr. Alexander Suresh, Fr. Januarius, Dr. Prabhu and Mr. Thiruchellvamani coordinated the tournament. Fr. Victor Antonyraj, the Secretary, thanked the Sports Committee and acknowledged the contributions of all the people particularly Bosco hostellers and refrees for making it a grand success.
