The INT Province YAR Sector Meeting for 2024-2025 took place on June 12, 2024, at Coimbatore Don Bosco Anbu Illam, with 35 participants including directors, administrators, and staff from various YAR Centers, and representatives from the Miracle Foundation and Bosco Net, New Delhi.

The meeting began with a prayer by Fr. Arul Kumar Antony SDB and welcoming remarks by Fr. Casimir Raj. Mr. Lawrence from the Miracle Foundation India presented on “Emerging Trends in Standardizing CCIs and Strengthening Alternative Care.”

Following a coffee break, representatives from YAR Centers presented their activity reports for 2023-2024. Mrs. Jacqueline, Hub Coordinator for Home Link, presented the Home Link report and outlined the way forward. The INT YAR Annual Plan for 2024-2025 and the YAR National Plan were also discussed.

  • Foster Care: Focus on family-based alternative care and family strengthening, with reference to the book on foster care by Bosco Bangalore.
  • Child Safeguarding Policy: Dissemination of the policy by the National Forum for the Young at Risk, New Delhi, to all Salesians, staff, and schools.
  • National Research: Urging YAR Centers to complete FGDs and Child Questionnaires promptly.
  • YAR Annual Statistics: Deadline for completion set for June 30, 2024, to be collated by Mrs. Jacqueline.
  • YAR Leaders Orientation: Confirmation of program dates by Mrs. Jacqueline.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Amalorpavaraj, and participants sang a Don Bosco hymn.
