Don Bosco Vazhikaatti Trichy, a pioneering institute in career guidance, training, and placements in the Province of Trichy, conducted a unique orientation program at Don Bosco Care Home, Nilavarapatti. The program focused specifically on supporting students in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) under the Aftercare Program.

The Aftercare Program in India supports youth moving out of Child Care Institutions (CCIs) at 18 to secure education, employment, and stability. However, many face financial insecurity, lack of job readiness, and emotional struggles. Don Bosco institutions in Trichy Province have played a crucial role in mentoring and empowering these young adults to build independent and dignified lives.
Fr. Rico SDB, Director of Don Bosco Care, Nilavarapatti, inaugurated the program, emphasizing the importance of discipline and perseverance in building a successful career. In his talk, Fr. Daniel Sebastian stated, “Success is not about luck; it is about preparation and perseverance. With the right guidance at the right time, lives can be transformed, and this initiative serves as a beacon of hope for thousands of students.”
During the session, Mr Raja elaborated on career paths in government services, urging students to dream big but prepare even bigger. Mr Arumairaj provided an analysis of employment trends 2025, highlighting the importance of staying updated with new policies and emerging career opportunities. The program also saw the special participation of Fr. Rayan SDB, Director and Vice-Rector of Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Coimbatore, Fr. Arockiaraj SDB from Anbu Illam Moolakadu, and Fr. Casimir SDB, Rector of Salem Anbu Illam.

Beneficiaries of the initiative expressed their gratitude, particularly students from the Aftercare Program, who often struggle with career uncertainty after leaving institutional care. Karthik, a student from a CCI, shared, “For many of us, this is more than just a training program—it is a lifeline. It allows us to build a future we never thought possible.” Another participant, Raghu, expressed, “I always feared what would happen after I left the care home. This session has given me confidence that I can secure a stable job and build my life.”
With thousands of students preparing for government jobs, access to proper guidance remains challenging, particularly for underprivileged youth lacking resources and structured preparation. Don Bosco Vazhikaatti’s initiative aims to bridge this gap by offering expert coaching, career counselling, and mentorship.
