Inauguration and Opening

The Department of English at Don Bosco College of Arts and Science, Keela Eral, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu organized an International Conference on Digital Humanities: Narratives, Literature and Cultural Transformations on 29th September 2025. The conference commenced at 9:30 a.m. in hybrid mode and concluded at 3:30 p.m., bringing together scholars, faculty members, research students, and learners from diverse institutions.

Academic Sessions

The conference featured three thought-provoking sessions led by eminent scholars:

  1. Dr. K. Deepshikha (Assistant Professor of English, VHNSN College, Virudhunagar) delivered a lecture on Digital Gaze: Cyberfeminism and Resilience.
  2. Dr. Sumathi K. Sripathi (Associate Professor, DMI–St. Eugene University, Lusaka, Zambia) gave a virtual presentation on Culture and Cybernetic Consciousness.
  3. Dr. S. A. Sovya Shephyr (Assistant Professor, Department of English, Kristu Jayanti University, Bengaluru) presented on Post-Humanist Narratives.

Each session sparked insightful discussions, emphasizing the growing relevance of digital humanities in contemporary cultural and literary studies.

Participation and Paper Presentations

The hybrid conference witnessed the active participation of nearly 150 attendees, with 70 research papers presented by research scholars, faculty members, and students. The diverse perspectives enriched the academic dialogue and contributed to the evolving discourse on literature, technology, and cultural transformations.

Valedictory Session

The valedictory session was marked by the official release of the conference proceedings by Rev. Dr. Rajadevan. The first copy was received by Dr. M. Prabhu, Principal of Don Bosco College of Arts and Science.

Convenor and Coordination

The international conference was coordinated by Fr. Thiviya Alexander (Assistant Professor, Head & Convenor, Department of English). His efforts, along with the organizing team, ensured the smooth conduct of the academic event.

The International Conference proved to be an enriching academic platform, widely appreciated by participants. It fostered meaningful dialogue on the intersections of literature, digital technology, and cultural transformation, reinforcing the significance of digital humanities in the present academic and cultural scenario.
