The period between June and November, 2025 has seen a wonderful effort at the long-awaited synergizing among various departments and commissions. For us at DB JANANAM, it was a dream coming true. In June we came out with two video productions one with the help of Alaihal Media and other with the help of Mrs. Nirmala of the Association of Salesian Cooperators. The first one was Pazhakamila (No habits) and the other one was Pothai Illa Peruvazhvu (Helthy life without addictions). Both the videos were released on the 26th June, on the International Day Against Drug Abuse.
It is another story with the DBCARES. We did our programmes together throughout this six-month period. We were able to combine addition counselling and psychological counselling for students with both academic and technical background. The institutions covered include: The Radiant CBSE school Tanjore, DB Polytechnic at Kazhiappanallur, DB Childcare Home Moolakkadu, DBHSSS Tanjore, DBCAS Keela Eral, the Don Bosco Prenovitiate Dindigul, INT Pre-perpetuals, & Christ the King HSS Namakkal. In all we had addressed about 2600 students offering both individual and group counselling. During this period, Jananam has also offered spiritual retreats, one in the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, and two in the Salesian Province of Myanmar. These are also occasions we deal with addictions, for addiction is also said to be a spiritual disease.
