Post-Novitiate Formation House (1950–2025)
Celebrated on 10th January 2026
The Platinum Jubilee of the Retreat – Don Bosco, Yercaud, marked a moment of profound gratitude and joy as the community commemorated 75 years of legacy and transformation. Since its founding in 1950, the Post-Novitiate Formation House has stood as a beacon of God’s providence, enriched by the dedication, sacrifice, and tireless commitment of the Salesians and their collaborators.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Silvio Roggia SDB, General Councilor for Formation, and concelebrated by fellow priests. The presence of Provincials and Salesians of INT and INM, formees from the formation houses of INT, religious of Yercaud, well-wishers, and collaborators added depth and richness to the occasion.
Following the Eucharist, a vibrant cultural program unfolded in the auditorium. Former Rectors of the Post-Novitiate house were honored for their commitment and dedication to the formation of young brothers. The students of philosophy staged a meaningful drama inspired by the Congregation’s Strenna and the Jubilee theme, “Called – Formed – Sent.” Other formation houses of INT also contributed with cultural performances, making the event a tapestry of gratitude and creativity.
In the afternoon, the formees of INT participated in the Jubilee Volleyball Tournament organized by the students of philosophy. The Pre-Novitiate team emerged champions, while the students of philosophy secured the runners-up position, fostering fraternity and joyful competition.

Later in the evening, Rev. Fr. Silvio Roggia engaged in a meaningful interaction and conference with the formees, offering them guidance and inspiration. This was followed by a spontaneous family circle, where the formees expressed their affection and gratitude through songs, skits, and performances to felicitate the Formation Councilor.
The Platinum Jubilee was not merely a celebration of years but a living testimony of faith, formation, and fraternity. It created lasting memories and renewed inspiration in the lives of Salesians, formees, and all who encounter the Retreat–Don Bosco Formation House. Truly, it was a day that honored the past, celebrated the present, and looked forward with hope to the future.
