The Strenna for 2026 of the Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation was meaningfully disseminated to the leaders on 17 January 2026 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Trichy. The programme witnessed good participation from leaders across the province, reflecting a shared eagerness to understand and live the spirit of the Salesian mission in the year ahead.
The session was animated by Fr. Thomas Louis, Rector of Varadarajanpet, who presented the Strenna theme for 2026: “Do whatever He tells you” – Believers, Free to Serve. Rooted in the Gospel episode of the Wedding at Cana, the reflection gently invited the leaders to rediscover the primacy of listening to God, trusting in His guidance, and responding generously in their service to the young.
Following the presentation, the leaders actively engaged in group discussions, sharing insights from their own mission contexts and reflecting on how the Strenna could be meaningfully lived at the grassroots level. These discussions led to the formulation of concrete lines of action, offering practical directions for pastoral planning and community life during the year.
A significant outcome of the programme was the emphasis on continuity and mission-wide dissemination. The leaders committed themselves to carrying the Strenna message to their respective mission presences, where they will gather members of the Salesian Family to share the Strenna and collaboratively draw up local action plans suited to their realities.
The dissemination programme thus became more than a formal presentation; it was a moment of shared reflection, renewal, and missionary orientation. It reaffirmed the call to live the Salesian vocation not merely through activities and programmes, but through a deeper attentiveness to God’s voice and a freer, more joyful service to the young.
In this way, the Strenna 2026 has begun its journey – moving from reflection to action, from leaders to communities, and from words to lived witness in the Salesian mission.
