Keeranur, August 2, 2026 – A seminar on the theme “Responsibility of Young Generation Towards Climate Change” was conducted yesterday at Don Bosco Youth Village, Keeranur.
The session was animated by Rev. Fr. Thambu Raj SDB. Around 55 youth group members and Children Parliament members actively participated in the seminar.
Speaking to the gathering, Fr. Thambu Raj highlighted the urgent need for young people to take responsibility in protecting the environment. He emphasized that climate change is a moral and social issue that demands concrete action from every individual. Through examples, activities, and reflection, he motivated the youth to adopt eco-friendly practices such as tree planting, waste reduction, water and energy conservation, and saying no to plastic. He reminded the participants that caring for creation is an integral part of our faith and our duty to future generations.
The program was coordinated by Rev. Fr. Joseph Raj SDB, Youth Service Coordinator. The overall animation and support for the event was provided by Rev. Fr. Arul Antony SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Youth Village.
The seminar concluded with a strong call to the youth to become “eco-warriors” in their families, schools, and villages. The participants expressed that the session increased their awareness and inspired them to take small but meaningful steps for a greener and healthier planet.
