The Catechetical Department (Christodayam) of Tiruchy Province conducted the Altar children convention on 16th and 17th of February 2019 at Don Bosco Madurai Jawaharpuram. From all the parishes, 118 children attended this animation programme. This convention was based on the theme ‘holiness of being an altar server.’ The Altar Children had animations on ‘Basics of Altar Serving, Liturgical Seasons and Things,Media and Catechesis and Formation of Altar servers.’ There was a common session on vocation promotion handled by the vocation promoter of the province. This convention was coordinated by Fr. John Baptist, the Director of the catechetical department of the province with the help of a team of Salesians. The participants departed with lots of enthusiasm to be of service at the Altar. The Salesian community of Don BoscoJawaharpuram made available their campus for this event.
