The Jubilarians

The Province Foundation Day and the Jubilee Celebrations of the Province of Tiruchy was held at Don Bosco Thanjavur on 05th August 2019.

 

The Salesian province of Tiruchy has completed its twenty years of service to the Poor and Marginalized young people with the Slogan, ‘Periphery to the Centre.’ At this event of the province stepping into its 21st year, the province together with the members of the Salesian Family gathered at Don Bosco Thanjavur to celebrate this event.

 

The celebration began with solemn procession accompanied by the band of music by the Aspirants. Fr. Francis Camillus, the Jubilarian celebrated the Holy Eucharist and Father Gerard Britto SDB preached the Homily. During the homily, Father Gerard Britto expressed and shared that the Divine mercy of God, the motherly protection of our Blessed Mother and the fatherly guidance of Don Bosco, has strengthened the province and all its members to serve the young people especially the most deserving.

 

After the Holy Eucharist the Jubilarians, Fr. Joseph Puthenkalam: Diamond Jubilee of Ordination and Platinum Jubilee of profession, Fr. John Vellayil: Golden Jubilee of Priestly Ordination, Fr. Francis Camillus: Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession (50), were felicitated. It was a moment for the entire province, to thank the Lord for gifting to the Province these great Salesians who in turn have contributed their might for the development of the province and for the salvation of the young.

 

 

During this occasion, the four volumes of music notation book ‘Irai Alaigal’ authored by Father Agilan SDB, the Vice Provincial and the short film on campaign against child marriage an initiative taken by Don Bosco Anbu Illam Salem, were released. Alaigal DB media, were the technicians for these two great works to come into reality. It was indeed a day of thanksgiving and celebration. The programme was coordinated by Father Agilan the Vice provincial and Father Amaladoss the Economer. The Community of Don Bosco Thanjavur, made their campus colourful and welcoming to the guests and well-wishers.
