The academic commission of Tiruchy province conducted, a speech competition for the School students of the province on the theme, ‘National Integration,’ to mark the theme of the year given by SPCSA, ‘Nation Building in the constitutional way.’
Students had their selection round in their own schools conducted at different dates. The selected first three students gathered on 19 August 2019 at Don Bosco Lalgudi, Manakkal for the finals. There were 37 participants from DB Thanjavur, Madhakottai, Madurai, Varadarajanpet, Lalgudi Manakkal, Bosco Maiyam Pallithammam for this final competition. Students were divided into three categories and the competition was conducted.
The programme began at 11.00 am with a prayer song and the headmaster of the hosting institution, DB Lalgudi, welcomed the gathering and felicitated those came for the event. The rules and regulations were explained to the participants.
Two retired Headmasters who received the best-teacher award, Tamil Masters from the Campion and Montfort schools Trichy, Two Tamil-pandits from St. Anne’s and DB Lalgudi, formed the team of judges.
After the competition was over, the students were gathered at the hall for an input session and for the announcement of the results. Fr. Amirthanathan Irudayaraj, the head of the academic commission, on behalf of the province, thanked the participants, Judges, the Salesians who accompanied the students and the staff for preparing the students. special note of thanks was expressed to the School Community of DB Lalgudi Manakkal for their warm welcome, arrangements and for the hospitality.
Fr. Amirthanathan, the coordinator of the programme also explained how the students are organized and animated creatively every year through various competitions on the theme of the year, ‘Nation Building in the constitutional way.’

The participants and all those who witnessed the competition were happy with the results and expressed their applause and appreciation for the organizing team.
