Dn. Allen Chrisrea, originating from the Province of Tiruchy, now a member of AFE province, was ordained on 18 October 2020 at Veerapandiapattinam, in Thoothukudi District, Tamilnadu, India. Most. Rev. Stephen Antony, the bishop of the diocese ordained the Deacon on 18 October 2020 at Veerapadiapattinam at 05.00 pm.
Fr. Allen Chrisrea joined the Tiruchy province as an aspirant at DB Thanjavur in 2006. He did his prenovitiate at Vellakinar in 2008 and novitiate at Idayadeepam, Yellagiri in 2009. He made his first profession on 24 May 2009. He completed his under graduate degree in Mathematics staying at DB Thanjavur. In 2014 he expressed his desire to opt for missions and he was assigned for his practical training to the delegation of Sudan, in South Africa (AFE) on temporary contract. With the enriching experience he gained, Allen was willing to permanently get transferred to AFE and serve there as a missionary. He became a permanent member of AFE province from 2016.
His missionary zeal and perseverance is looked upon and appreciated. The neighbouring communities along with the young Salesians participated in the Ordination, prayed and wished God’s blessings upon the newly ordained.
