Grand Celebration of Oratory Annual Day

The Oratory Annual Day was held on 09th March 2025 at The Retreat – Don Bosco, Yercaud. The event witnessed a remarkable gathering of over 225 enthusiastic young individuals from 13 tribal villages across the Shevaroys hills, making it a momentous occasion.

Inauguration and Opening Ceremony

The event commenced at 10:30 am with a soulful prayer song by the retreat brothers. Rev. Fr. James, the Youth Director of The Retreat – Don Bosco, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and honored the chief guests. Fr. Arul Maran, the Rector, officially declared the Oratory Day 2025 open. Following the formal inauguration, the much-awaited fete games began.

Exciting Fete Games and Sports Activities

The young participants eagerly engaged in adventurous games organized by the brothers. They actively participated, won prize coupons, and rushed to the prize stall to collect sports materials. The entire atmosphere buzzed with excitement and competitive spirit as the youngsters enthusiastically competed in various contests. The fete games concluded by 12:30 p.m.

Inspiring Motivational Session

After the games, the young attendees gathered for an inspirational talk delivered by Mr. Vijay, the founder of Unity of Youth and an NGO dedicated to youth welfare, along with Mr. Nanthakumar. Their powerful words encouraged the young people to reflect deeply on their lives and strive for success and self-improvement.

Recognition of Community Initiatives

The event also served as a platform to honor and appreciate the remarkable efforts of orators who initiated impactful programs in their villages. Special recognition and tributes were given to those who organized medical camps and other community service activities, highlighting their invaluable contributions to society.

Medical and Blood Donation Camps

Adding a charitable aspect to the event, general medical and blood donation camps were organized in collaboration with SKS Hospital, Salem. This initiative underscored the commitment to community welfare and health promotion, allowing participants to contribute to noble causes and foster a spirit of solidarity and compassion.

Cultural Performances and Prize Distribution

After a hearty lunch, cultural events took center stage, featuring performances from two oratories, including dance and silambam, a traditional Tamil martial art. The event also celebrated the winners of sports competitions such as volleyball, football, and cricket, with trophies awarded to champions and runners-up.

Inspirational Address by Fr. Rosario

Fr. Rosario, the Youth Director of the Province, delivered an impassioned speech, inspiring the young attendees to pursue a bright and purposeful future. His words resonated deeply, instilling a sense of motivation and determination among the youth.
