Keyboard Music Training
Pursuing to its commitment to the holistic development of young people, Don Bosco Youth Village, Keeranur, organized a free Keyboard Music Training during the summer from April 20 to May 25. Fr. Joseph Raj SDB handled the classes with the aim of nurturing musical talents among children and youth from the local villages.
Around 20 young children enthusiastically participated in the training, which was offered completely free of cost. Through regular practice and guidance, the participants learned the basics of keyboard playing and accompaniment skills.
The impact of the programme has been remarkable. Many youngsters have developed a genuine interest in music and have gained confidence to play the keyboard. Several participants have taken the initiative to organize and animate Church choirs in their respective villages, enriching the liturgical celebrations and fostering a spirit of active participation in their faith communities.
This initiative stands as a beautiful example of empowering the young to build confidence, and use their talents in the service of the Church and society.
Folk Arts Training Programme
A Folk Arts Training was also organized during the summer holidays from May 15 to 17 to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu among children and youth. This programme provided a unique opportunity for young participants to learn traditional folk arts while developing their creativity, confidence, and teamwork.
A total of 30 young children enthusiastically took part in the training programme, which was offered free of cost. Under the guidance of experienced trainers, the participants learned various folk-art forms, including folk dances, traditional songs, rhythmic movements, and cultural performances.
The training had a significant impact on the participants. It helped them appreciate their cultural roots, develop their artistic talents, and gain confidence in performing before an audience. The participants showcased their newly acquired skills through group performances and cultural presentations, bringing joy and pride to their families and communities.
Through this initiative, Don Bosco Youth Village, Keeranur continues its mission of empowering young people by fostering cultural awareness, self-expression, and community participation, ensuring that traditional folk arts remain alive and vibrant among the younger generation.
