The Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) organized a one-day animation and orientation programme for representatives of seven Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) under the WELEAD Project on 5 June 2026 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Tiruchy. The programme focused on promoting constitutional leadership among women and strengthening their understanding of the contemporary political scenario in Tamil Nadu.
The programme was graced by Fr. Doss Kennedy, Provincial of Tiruchy, Fr. Ricopar Royan, Province Economer, and Mr. Christuraj, Advocate and LEAD Trainer. Fr. Doss Kennedy encouraged women to recognize their strengths, embrace leadership, and contribute confidently to society. Fr. Ricopar emphasized the importance of women’s role in family and society while stressing the need for greater safety, dignity, and equal opportunities.
Mr. Christuraj delivered an insightful session on Constitutional Leadership and Contemporary Tamil Nadu Politics, highlighting that true leadership is rooted in service, responsibility, and democratic values. He noted that real power lies in empowering others through inner strength.
The afternoon session reviewed the progress of project activities across the seven partner CSOs and planned future youth meetings, leadership programmes, support groups, and awareness campaigns. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to nurturing informed, confident, and constitutionally grounded women leaders who can actively contribute to democratic governance and social transformation.
