On 27 & 28 February 2021, ‘Sola Rolling Trophy Football Tournament’ was organized by post-novitiate formation house The Retreat, Yercaud, for the poor youth of Shervaroy hills. It is one of the annual events conducted by the Salesians in memory of Fr. Egidius Sola SDB. Rev. Fr. Raj SDB, The Rector, spearheaded the whole tournament with the help of the Salesian staff and the students of philosophy. The chief guests were Mr. Ramachandran, Manjakuttai Panchayat President, Mrs. Kokila, Thalaicholai Councillor, and Mr. Jayan, Steling Resorts. As many as 24 teams participated in the tournament. Manjakuttai, Eleven Tigers of K. Pudhur, MFC Trophy Fighters and KFC of Kovilmedu clinched the first, second, third and the fourth prizes respectively. Fr. Franklin Kuzhandai SDB with his team of Salesians and students of philosophy organised the entire event and made it memorable for all the youngsters.
