The Province of Tiruchy organized an eco-exposure trip for the Eco Club members, to the Tamilnadu horticulture and research centreTrichy, on 06 July 2019. It was a green day for the students to get into the fields and soil ground to know more about and relate lovingly with nature. Three hundred and twenty members participated and benefitted from this exposure visit. The children were accompanied by their staff. Mr. Parthiban, professor at the research centre, animated the students on creating kitchen garden, roof garden and saplings produce,showing them models and demonstrations. He also introduced the children to various kinds of herbal plants and stressed the importance of having necessary herbal plants in all the houses.This methodology of training and visit enabled the students to respect and love the mother earth and protect it from various dangers. The practical sessions created a huge interest in the children to create their own gardens in their houses. Children were given saplings and seeds to begin to implement the lessons they learned from this exposure visit. This event was organized in vision of ecologically empowering the children and promoting them to be the messengers of green and clean mother earth. This expo was coordinated by Father Barnabass, under the able direction of Fr. Amaladoss the Province Economer and Father Arul Maran the director of the Province development office.
